Shipyard Reimerswaal frequently carries out remarkable conversions and refits. Examples are:
Widening Floating Dock
At the moment we are extending one of our floating docks, the "RW-2". This dock is being widened from 16 to 22 meters inner width. The length remains 120 meter and the lifting capacity will increase from 4.500 to 5.600 tons. Meanwhile we had the soil of the yard dredged. The draft has increased to 6,5 meters. Alida
This Dutch hecktrawler, owned by Messrs Van der Zwan & sons was completely renovated by our shipyard in 2008.
Plancius
The reconstruction of the 32 years old former navy vessel Tideman (A906), with which oceanographic sureveys were carried out, to a modern very well equipped passenger ship for polar cruises, is another extraordinary project. The accomodation was enlarged substantially and the wheelhouse was brought forward with 15 meters. This refit was carried out in 2008 on behalf of the owners Oceanwide Expeditions.
River Bee
The 35 years old dredging vessel (TSHD) River Bee has been sold by it’s former owners to Messrs AMS in Freemantle – Australia. The last project that MV River Bee had finished was 5 years earlier in Mexico, so the vessel had been layd up since then.
